Their thin pale yellow skin is smooth and waxy.
Inside, they have firm, juicy, aromatic yellow flesh. The taste is rich and very sweet with almost no tartness.
The fruit starts ripening late July / early August depending on the area, and the harvest can continue into September.
The tree tends to bear every other year.
Cooking Tips
Good for fresh-eating, apple sauce or cider.
Almost no sugar is needed when making apple sauce from it.
