History Notes
Pink Princess Apples were developed from a cross between Pink Pearl and King of the Pippins apples (ed.: some sources say Bronze Leaf crabapples instead of King of the Pippins) done by a Fred Janson in Ontario, Canada, 1967. He named it at first Pink Lady, but when an Australian cultivar got the patent on the name Pink Lady, he had to change the name to Pink Princess.
