Sinopolese Olives are a cultivar of olives grown particularly in the Gioia Tauro plain of Calabria, Italy.
The tree grows up to 80 feet (25 metres) tall, is relatively cold tolerant, and needs to cross-pollinate with another variety to fruit.
Because the tree is so tall, the olives are allowed to fall to the ground, and harvested from there.
The olives are pressed for oil; they have a medium oil yield.
The olives are also being grown in Argentina.
