Slabs



The word "Slab" in cooking can be used to refer:

to a cut of ribs from an animal (see separate entry on Ribs);
to cakes (see separate entry on Slab Cakes.)

In French, the world "Pavé" meaning "paving stone" is applied to certain sizes of cheeses and breads. See separate entry on Pavé for more information.
