Tondo di Piacenza is a round zucchini with smooth dark-green skin that is speckled with lighter green.
It is best picked when baseball size (4 inches / 10 cm) or smaller.
When very young, it has an elongated neck that gets absorbed into the round part as it grows older.
Cooking Tips
This zucchini is good for stuffing, frying or grilling. The shape makes it particularly good for stuffing. When baked, Tondo di Piacenza will stay firm on the outside, but will go soft inside.
It is also good fresh in salads, etc.
