Tortini means “little cakes” in Italian (from the word “torta”, meaning “cake”.)
This, of course, essentially means it can be just about anything, from muffins and cupcakes to pie to quiche.
Some tortini can be like savoury puddings, only with cream and sometimes, flour, added, and then either baked or fried on top of the stove, like a frittata for example.
Some can be a pie, savoury or sweet, with or without a top crust.
Or, tortini can be essentially a quiche, or an apple pie.
