They are on the large side, with skin that can be green or yellowish-green, and that feels a bit waxy in your hands.
The flesh is white with a mild flavour that is a bit sweet, a bit tart. Its taste overall isn’t as nice as other Asian pears, but producers like this variety because it has a very long storage life, up to six or even 10 months, and some feel that it gets better in storage.
Tsu Li trees can only be pollinated by Ya Li trees.
There is also a variety in China named “Tsu Li”, but that is different from the one being grown in North America.
