The mostly upright bush needs 200 to 300 (some sources say 400 to 500 hours) of cold weather during the winter and delivers an early harvest.
Though the Gulf Coast Blueberry bush is patent free, it is not popular for commercial production because a high number of stems remain attached to the fruit after picking.
