Hunt Russet Apples

Hunt Russet are medium-sized, slightly oval apples with ribbing.

They have yellow skin with a bright red blush, and covered with russetting.

Inside, the off-white flesh is tender, finely-textured, and juicy.

The taste is slightly tart but overall it has good flavour.

For fresh-eating.

Storage Hints

Stores for at least 6 months; up to a year in a cool root cellar.

History Notes

Hunt Russet Apples were found on a farm owned by the Hunt family in Concord, Massachusetts, USA in the 1750s.
