Northsky are light-blue, medium-sized berries with a very sweet flavour that is close to the flavour of wild blueberries.
The bush is very cold hardy and can withstand temperatures in excess of – 40 F / C.
It is compact, only growing 10 to 18 inches (25 to 45) tall, and 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) wide.
It will produce 1 to 2 pounds (450 to 900 g) of berries per bush, sometimes up to 1.8 kg.
Storage Hints
The berries freeze well.
History Notes
Northsky blueberries were developed from a cross between Ashworth blueberries and two other blueberries referred to as “G65” and “R2P4” at the University of Minnesota (USA), and were released in 1983.
