Inside, they have finely-textured, firm, dense off-white flesh. The flesh has a rich, spicy, sweet, full somewhat nutty taste, and is aromatic.
The fruit will hang on the tree late into winter, though some may also drop prematurely.
It is best picked when just ripe, then allowed to mature in storage, during which time the flavour starts to become pear-like.
