A Muskmelon’s skin ripens from green to yellow, with beige or tan coloured netting. Inside, the firm orange flesh is very fragrant. The fruit averages 3 to 3 pounds (900 to 1300g.)

History Notes
Muskmelon was first exported to the US from France in 1881 as the “Netted Gem”. Commercial growing in America first began in 1895 in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
