A Muskmelon’s skin ripens from green to yellow, with beige or tan coloured netting. Inside, the firm orange flesh is very fragrant. The fruit averages 3 to 3 pounds (900 to 1300g.)

1/4 small Muskmelon = 3 oz = 85g
1/2 cup Muskmelon 1 inch (2.5 cm) pieces, peeled = 2 1/2 oz = 70g
Muskmelon was first exported to the US from France in 1881 as the “Netted Gem”. Commercial growing in America first began in 1895 in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
