Inside, they have dark red flesh with a tart flavour.
The fruit ripens in October.
History Notes
Niedzweckyana Apples were used as breeding stock by a Dr Nels Hansen at the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station in South Dakota, USA in his development of other red-fleshed apples such as Almata apples.
They were also used in the development of Redfield apples.
