Nova Easy Gro Apples are from a cross done by the Canadian Deptartment of Agriculture in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1971. One of the parents was Spartan; the other was an experimental apple from the American PRI program, Prog.565, whose parents included Fanny, Jefferis, Wealthy, and Russian Seedling.
