The bush needs 550 to 650 hours of cold weather during the winter, and another blueberry bush to cross-pollinate it.
History Notes
Pearl River blueberries were developed from a cross between highbush and rabbiteye blueberries at the Agricultural Research Service Small Fruits Research Station in Poplarville, Mississippi (USA), with efforts led by James M. Spiers. They were released in 1995.
