Pink Pearl Apples

Pink Pearl are medium-sized, conical apples with slight ribbing, and translucent pale green skin.

Inside, the light pink flesh is crisp, finely-textured, aromatic and firm.

There is a balance of sweet and tart in the flavour. It sweetens more when fully ripe and after a bit of storage.

The tree blooms with ornamental deep pink blossoms in the spring.

The fruit ripens in August in California.

Cooking Tips

For fresh-eating. Also for sauce; makes pink applesauce.

Storage Hints

Stores well.

History Notes

Pink Pearl Apples were developed by Albert Etter in Humboldt County, California, USA, from a Sunrise apple seed. Introduced 1944.
