Red Globe Grapes

Red Globe Grapes are very large table grapes with seeds. The grapes are about 2 inches wide (5 cm) with dark red skin.

They are very popular in Asia, though their appeal in North America is diminishing as the North American preference changes to seedless grapes. Consequently, most Red Globes grown in North America are exported to Asia.

They are also very popular now in Australia both for domestic consumption and export to Asia.

History Notes

They were developed in California in 1958 from a cross between other grapes including Red Emperor, Hunisa and Nocea.
