Sundowner Apples

Sundowner Apples have smooth green to red skin with white spots. There will be some russeting around the stem (but generally not elsewhere).

Inside, the flesh is a bit coarse and tart.

Stores well, sweetness increases during storage.

History Notes

Developed in 1973 by John Cripps at Stoneville Research Station, Western Australia from a cross between Golden Delicious and Lady Williams. The trademark is held by Apple & Pear Australia Ltd.
