Black Forest Zucchini

Black Forest Zucchini is a climbing zucchini. It has a thick stalk and grows up to 7 feet (2 metres) tall.

It can be grown in a container on a trellis, but it needs good support: even the leaves get large and heavy very early on.

A suitable container should be about 2 feet (60cm) wide, and be in full sun.

The seeds can be started indoors in April or May. When container planting, allow just 1 to 2 plants per container.

The zucchini itself is green, about 6 to 9 inches (15 to 25 cm) long.

The taste, sadly, tends to be pretty bland, though it is somewhat better and more concentrated when picked very young.

65 days till first fruit.

F1 Hybrid.
