They have thin pale yellow skin covered with pale red.
Inside, the off-white flesh has good flavour and a mild, tart taste.
The fruit ripens late July / early August.

Dawn Crab Apples were developed in 1945 by a Dr C.F. Patterson at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada from a cross between Columbia Applecrabs and Melba apples.
Released 1959.
