Edranol Avocado

The Edranol Avocado has semi-rough, medium-thick skin that peels easily. The skin is darkish green, with the bumps on it with a brighter green. The flesh is a buttery yellow; the stone inside is medium-sized. It is a hybrid derived from the Guatemalan type of avocados. It has a good flavour.

Grows better in coastal areas, as in interior regions the skin can get brown russeting happening on it.

One of the two most important avocados in South African production, the other being Fuerte (as of 2004.)

History Notes

Developed in California by an E.R. Mullen. Introduced commercially in 1932.
