Haas Apples

Haas are medium to large-sized apples with a bit of a ribbed shape to them.Their smooth, yellow skin is flushed with bright, deep red.

Inside, the white flesh is juicy, tender, firm and aromatic, occasionally with red stains in it.

The fruit starts to ripen in September.

The tree is very hardy.

Cooking Tips

Best used as a fresh-eating apple.

History Notes

Haas Apples were developed by a Jean Gabriel Cerre (1734 – 1805) of St Louis, Missouri.

The apple was popular in the American mid and south-west.
