Herve Ducks

Herve Ducks have feathers that resemble that of a Rouen clear duck.

The ducks have dark brown eyes, a pinkish beak lightly tinted with grey, and yellow shanks.

History Notes

Herve Ducks probably originated in the plateaus of the Herve region of France.

The breed had become rare by the start of the 20th century.

It was revived in 2004 by Robert Lequeux and Jean-Marie Prégardien. Prégardien was the president of the “Société de petit élevage de Xhendelesse et de la Fédération Liégeoise de la spécialité.”
