Huacatay Mint is a black mint used in parts of South America such as Peru and Bolivia.
It has an anise flavour.
It can be bought pickled or dried but the best is perhaps frozen, if you can’t get fresh. It is not very good dried.
It features in a mint sauce such as “Salsa de Huacatay” (black mint sauce.)
