Norchief Potatoes

Norchief Potatoes are round, with dark-red skin and white flesh.

They were marketed as all-purpose for direct to consumer sales.

They are not being grown commercially, as of 2006.

History Notes

Norchief Potatoes were developed by Robert H. Johansen at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, from a cross between Redkote potatoes and a potato referred to as “ND4468-1R.”

During development, it was referred to as “ND5778-2R.”

Released 1968.
