They are promoted for processing into French Fries (aka chips in the UK) and as all-purpose for direct to consumer sales.

Pioneer Potatoes were developed at the University of Nebraska from a cross between two potatoes referred to as “MN113-1-45” and “Nebraska 225.43-1.”
