Rideau Potatoes

Rideau Potatoes are round, with red skin and white flesh.

Marketed as all-purpose for direct to consumer sales, but if anything better for mash.

Late harvest.

History Notes

Rideau Potatoes were developed by Agriculture Canada in Ontario, Canada from a cross between Viking potatoes and a potato referred to as “Picha 177-13R.”

During development, the potato was referred to as “G6457-5R.”

Released 1971.
