Inside they have white flesh, orangish just beneath the rind (if less ripe, the flesh will be more greenish) and orangish around the seed cavity.
The melons are very aromatic. The taste is sweet. Some think the melons taste like a combination of cantaloupe and honeydew melons.
The average weight will be 6 to 9 pounds (2.7 to 4 kg.)
Another variety of Melon, also called Sharlyn Melon, looks very different. It is oblong, and has yellowish skin, that has the crazed look of old china or an old oil-painting.
It is very aromatic and has pale green flesh.
