Spezie Forti

Spezie Forti is an Italian term for a traditional spice mixture often made up by butchers for making sausages, etc.

The exact spices used will vary by who makes it. Traditional suggestions are black peppercorns, caraway, cardamon pods, cloves, coriander, cumin, ginger, horseradish, juniper, mace, mustard, and nutmeg.

More modern suggestions are cayenne pepper, pimento, chile peppers, tabasco sauce, curry powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
