Summer Champion Apples

Summer Champion are medium to large-sized, slightly conical-shaped apples.

They have yellow skin covered in pink and red stripes.

Inside, they have crisp, juicy yellowish flesh.

The fruit ripens in July.

History Notes

Summer Champion Apples were developed by a Wellington (Wirt) Waller of Lincoln, Arksansas around 1897.

Wellington was the son-in-law of George Collins, who originated the Collins Red Apples. Wellington sold Stark the rights for $45.00 US.

They were introduced commerically by Stark Brothers Nursery in 1907.
