Baby Green Hubbard Squash grows to be about 6 inches (15 cm) wide by 5 inches (12 ½ cm) tall, and weigh about 3 pounds (1.4 kg.)
It is round, though pointy at the top and bottom. The thin rid has slight ribbing and is dark green with pale green flecks. The skin will thicken and harden in storage, extending storage life.
Inside, it has hard, yellow flesh.
When harvested very young, it can be used as a summer squash.
When fully grown, it can be used as a vegetable or for pies.
The squash grow on a semi-bush type plant, and mature early, only 90 to 100 days from seed.
UK growers say that it does very well in the UK.
History Notes
The seed was obtained about 2001 from a family named “Fisher” in the Montana mountains.
