Banana Peppers look a lot like yellow wax peppers, which are quite hotter. Banana peppers are sweeter. They are from 4 to 6 inches long, though some hybrid varieties will grow 8 to 10 inches. The colour changes from yellow to orange to red as they mature. They have a tang, but no kick.

The heat level is 500 Scoville units.

Cooking Tips

These are good for pickling and frying, as they don’t contain as much water as, say, a bell pepper does.
