Barna Potatoes are medium to large-sized, oblong potatoes with bright red skin and white flesh.

The plant produces uniformly-sized potatoes for a late harvest.

They are waxy potatoes.

Cooking Tips

Hold their shape well after boiling.

History Notes

Barna Potatoes were developed by Teagasc (The Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority) at its Oak Park Research Centre in Carlow, Ireland from a cross between Desirée and Cara potatoes.
