They are said to be all-purpose for table use.

History Notes
Batoche Potatoes were developed in 1963 by the Government of Canada at its Agriculture Canada Research Station in Fredericton, New Brunswick from a cross between Redskin potatoes and a potato referred to as “Scott 2774-3R.” Released 1976.
