They have a small, dry scar after picking.
They can be left on the bush for several weeks after ripening (mid-season harvest) and still be of high quality.
History Notes
Caras Choice Blueberries were developed in 1981 jointly by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the New Jersey Agricultural Experimental Station from a cross between two blueberries referred to as “G-144” and “US 165”. Development was led by Mark K. Ehlenfeldt at the ARS Blueberry/Cranberry Research Laboratory in Chatsworth, New Jersey and were released in spring 2000.
