Champion Potatoes are oval. They have an uneven surface with tan skin with a faint purple blush, and deep yellow flesh.
These are floury potatoes with very good flavour.
They are very popular still in Ireland.
The plant delivers heavy yields in a late harvest.
History Notes
Champion Potatoes were developed by John Nicoll from Angus, Scotland in either 1862 or 1876 (sources vary.)
