Coconut Cream is a thicker version of Coconut Milk. It is unsweetened, but heat treated, then packaged and sold in cans or cartons.

Shake before opening.

If you’re looking for a sweetened version to use in mixed drinks, you’re after Cream of Coconut.

Coconut Cream is different from Creamed Coconut.

Substitutes

Per 10 oz (300 ml) of Coconut Cream needed, chop 2 ½ oz (75g) of Creamed Coconut (the dried kind that comes in a block), mix well with 3 ½ oz (100 ml) of hot water.

    • Combine 4 parts coconut with 1 part water, simmer until foamy. Remove from stove, let sit for 15 minutes, strain.
    • 1 packet of instant Coconut Powder with 6 ½ oz (200 ml ) of lukewarm water or 2 ½ oz (80g) of regular Coconut Powder with 6 ½ oz (200 ml ) of hot water.

      Storage Hints

Once opened, store in fridge and use within a day. In cartons, you can keep on shelf for up to 1 year.
