Coffee makers are tools used to make coffee as a hot beverage. They can be manual or electric, counter top or stove top.

They come in all sizes: from single-serving sizes to catering sizes.

All are designed to manage the flow of hot water through ground coffee in a filter, allowing the water to pass through the coffee, picking up the flavour, and flow into another area of the coffee maker leaving the ground coffee behind.

Different makers are designed to produce different styles of coffee in different strengths. Some boil the coffee in water first, others steep hot water through the coffee, others flow the hot water through. Some have reusable filters; some use disposable filters. All are designed to, ideally, deliver the beverage hot.

One of the most important attributes that most people look for in a coffee maker is can they operate it easily first thing in the morning?
