Hallacas

Hallacas are a South American version of Mexican Tamales.

The fillings are very similar, including being surrounded by dough made of Masa Harina, but they are wrapped in banana leaves instead of corn husks before cooking, which is usually done by boiling.

Most recipes originate in Venezuela.
