Hopi Black Beans

Hopi Black Beans grow on a drought resistant bush type bean plant that trails somewhat.

They can be eaten as a green bean, or let fully mature for use as a dried bean.

The Hopi also used these beans as a dye.

When dried, Hope Black Beans are dull black and small.

90 to 105 days from seed.

History Notes

Hopi Black Beans were traditionally grown by Hopi Indians.

Language Notes

Occasionally Black Hopi Beans are referred to as Turtle beans, but they are not the same.
