Idegem Ducks are used as call ducks for hunting. They are also good eating.

They are small sized, weighing from 3.3 to 3.7 pounds (1.5 to 1.7 kg.)

The coloration varies, including white feathered ones. Occasionally the ducks may have a crest on their heads.

They have thin shanks, and a medium-sized beak and neck.

The ducks carry themselves horizontally.
