Nooksack Potatoes

Nooksack Potatoes are oblong, slightly-flattened potatoes with smooth, russetted skin and white flesh.

These are floury potatoes, marketed for direct to consumer sales and for processing into French Fries (aka chips in the UK.)

The plant delivers high yields in a late harvest.

History Notes

Nooksack Potatoes were developed in 1963 by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Centre in Prosser, Washington State from a cross between Kennebec potatoes and a potato referred to as “A501-13.”

During development, it was referred to as “WN168.”

Released 1973.
