The skin can be dark to reddish orange. Inside, the flesh is a dark orange, often with many seeds.
The tree is thornless and cold hardy. The “judges” are still out on how well this tree is doing.
History Notes
Nova Tangelos were developed in 1942 by a Dr. Jack Bellows of the United States Department of Agriculture citrus breeding programme as a hybrid between Orlando Tangelo and Clementine. It was released commercially in 1964.
