Platte Potatoes are round, with light-buff skin and white flesh.
These are floury potatoes.
They were promoted for processing into French Fries (aka chips in the UK) and as all-purpose for direct to consumer sales.
Possibly extinct.
History Notes
Platte Potatoes were developed at the University of Nebraska from a cross between Redbake potatoes and a potato referred to as “Nebraska 29.47-2.”
