Ronde de Nice is a French, round zucchini with pale green skin that ripens to dark green.
Its vine will ramble about 3 feet (1 metre) in each direction, and grow 18 to 24 inches (45 to 60 cm) tall.
Harvest the Zucchini when they are the size of an orange, around 3 inches (7 ½ cm) wide. Don’t let them grow much over 4 inches (10 cm) wide.
They are popular in France stuffed and baked, but because they bruise easily, they are hard to ship.
Some equate them with “Eight-ball Zucchini.” Possibly the same zucchini as “Tondo Nizza Zucchini.”
50 to 55 days from seed.
Language Notes
Ronde de Nice Zucchini is also referred to as a “squash.” The name means “round one of Nice (France).”
