Sante are oval, large-sized potatoes with smooth, light yellow skin and flesh.
These are waxy potatoes.
They are marketed as all-purpose for direct to consumer sales and for processing into French Fries (aka chips in the UK.)
History Notes
Sante Potatoes were developed by a J. Vegter in Veendam, the Netherlands, in 1971, from a cross between two potatoes referred to as “SVP Y 66-13-636” and “SVP AM 66-42.”
