Sequoia Beans

Sequoia Beans are a romano-type bean that grow on bush-type bean plants.

The pods are purple, but turn green when cooked. They grow up to 5 inches (13 cm) long. Past 5 inches in length, the colour of the pods starts to deepen, and are less good as a “green bean.”

Sequoia Beans can be used as a green bean or a dried bean.

When dried, the beans are beige.

When cooked, the Sequoia Beans have a meaty texture and a strong flavour,

The plant does well in cool summers.

As a green bean, Sequoia cans well.
