Simcoe Potatoes

Simcoe are round, slightly flattened potatoes with smooth light-buff skin with some flaking, and white flesh.

They are marketed as an all-purpose potato for home gardeners.

History Notes

Simcoe Potatoes were developed in 1968 by Agriculture Canada at the Ontario Agricultural College, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1968 from a cross between Peconic and Lenape potatoes.

During development, it was referred to as “G6880-1.”

Released 1981.
