Swedish Brown Beans

Swedish Brown Beans grow on a bush-type bean plant that grows up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall; 85 to 125 days from seed.

They are grown for use as dried beans.

The plant produces pods 3 ½ inches (9 cm) long. There will be 5 to 7 beans per pod.

Swedish Brown Beans are ½ inch (1 cm) long by ¼ inch (½ cm) wide.

They are oblong with squat ends, and a butterscotch brown colour with a white eye on the side.

When cooked, Swedish Brown Beans have a golden brown colour, and a flavour that is almost slightly sweet.

They are popular in Sweden.

Possibly the same bean as Brown Dutch Beans.
