White Sweet Potato Flour

White sweet potato flour is a flour made from white sweet potatoes (boniatos.) It is pale cream in colour and tastes somewhat sweet.

It is popular in Japan and Korea; in North America and in the UK, it is mostly of interest to those living on wheat-free diets. In Cuba, people meanwhile complain of the large amount of sweet potato flour used to adulterate the wheat flour to make cheaper bread.

Cooking Tips

You can use it as a thickener. When baking, special recipes are required as its properties are very different from wheat flour.

Nutrition

It is gluten free.
